Apacies Beta 1.0
Happy Birthday AZ: Apacies BETA 1.0 Update!
A sizable update for a sizeable milestone!
Overworld: Established mines have a new look! the mines in Ajo, Tombstone, and Nogales better match the Overworld, rather than the black and red that they looked like before.
Tucson and Various Routes are populated! Tucson and a few routes have new NPCs to talk to. Some have references to various things, while others hit at the story to come. Battles: Particles for Moves! As of now, there are 3 different particle styles for moves, specific target, multi target, and self targeting particles. It is now MUCH easier to understand what is happening during a battle, now that you can visually see who is attacking and when!
Particles for Weather! Rain, Snow, Sandstorms and Sunny are now represented with particles. Each weather effect has different effects to the battle so a visual impact of when they are in effect was necessary and they look great (Sandstorm and Sunny are my current favorites).
Traps cause Tick damage! When an Apacies is caught in a trap, they will have a missing tick upon entering battle. I wanted some sort of reward for taking initiative and trapping an Apacies.
Leaders can have specific backgrounds! Upon entering battle with a trainer they can have a specific battle background to pair with their different music. It's a little variation to the battle background. ETC: Scene Transitions make the game look way more polished! When traveling in the different areas in the game, the screen will fade out and back in during the loading time required. This one visual update makes the game look WAY more polished.
During scene transitions, the Scene and Music are displayed! Now you can visually see the name of the Scene you are entering and the song both being played, and the song that will play. A simple fade in and out of the scene is nice, but the added information give the player something to do (read) during the loading of the next level.
Apacies can Learn Moves when leveling up! When an Apacies levels up, their allotted points can be used to learn from 3 varied movesets. The point values are likely to change in the future, but for now they are. 1 point: a random move from the Apacies movepool, either a newly available move, or one that has been forgotten
2 points: a random move from the types the Apacies has. whether or not your Apacies has 1 or 2 typings, they can learn anything from the most basic, to the most advanced move; if the rolls are in your favor.
3 points: a completely random move from all typings. If you want you Apacies to have type coverage, or some generally powerful move, the rolls can help you... for a cost. Everytime the Apacies levels up, the moves are Re-Rolled, so if you see a move you like, pick it up while you have the chance! Thank you all for supporting the game, and I hope to get more eyes on it! Let's hope we can make this game great!
