Apacies 0.8
Hello everyone, 0.8 is ready and is packed with a good variety of goodies!
New NPC Designs: like last time, I wanted to make more varients in NPCs to make the world seem more lived in. It's small, but it's one of those things that's better if someone doesn't notice it.
New Apacies: I showed off a bunch in the video, but you guys have already seen most of the new designs; and to be honest, I can't remember if I introduced some last update or not... either way they have been given move-sets and stats that you haven't seen yet.
New Routes: Every major route should be done at this point, what's left are small off-shoots and detours for the maps, along with detailing them. The map should be in a relatively final state once Tucson is introduced sometime soon. it's a central hub for the game and is the last big piece that needs to be introduced.
NPC Battle Music: I can now edit the battle-theme for any NPCs you'll encounter along the way. It's simple but I will probably have to work out a few bugs introduced by a more dynamic track script.
Rouge-lite progression (Basic): each Level an Apacies grows, it holds a set amount of points for you, these points currently allow you to raise Stats (like ATK and DEF), and will soon allow you to fine tune your creatures by spending points on Moves, Abilities, and Evolution.
I feel like this update has been tremendously productive! A lot of my backlogged designs for creatures have been introduced. The game has been given extra depth by introducing more Active game mechanics, and the world has been given more depth with larger maps and more NPC designs. and the plans for the following update seem to follow a very similar path.
I have some ideas to make use of the overworld Apacies, and create mechanics that better utilize those game mechanics; specifically using bait and traps to interact with the overworld Apacies more directly.
Add in Route Details and NPC Movement: these have been a to-do for awhile, I'm not sure when I'll get to them, but they will be necessary at some point.
New House design- my self-made tilesets for buildings are very rudimentary and need updating, I've been holding off making Tucson because of this. This update I want to get this done, so that it's a clean and simple upgrade to the game as a whole!
As always, I'm not expecting to get everything here done, and I'm sure I'll end up doing extra stuff I hadn't considered. I'm not sure when the next update will be released, I'm thinking mid-August through early September; We'll see. I hope you enjoy the update, thank you and have a good night.
